The Operations Manager’s main focus is coordinate and oversee project execution and staff.  They are partners to the Account Managers in execution of the work. They are a positive influence, a catalyst for change, communication, support, and trusted advisor to all employees at all levels. They inspire the growth and development of the field operations teams. They are responsible for ensuring that all procedures, methods, labor management and staffing are implemented consistently with the objectives of the company.
What You’ll Do:
  • Support the region’s General Manager and Regional Executive Officer by identifying and raising critical issues in the region and working to provide and execute resolution of critical issues;
  • Partner with Account Managers, Project Executives and Business Development on project pursuits. This includes logistics assistance, schedule assistance, and staffing/resource assistance;
  • Support all field leaders with staffing, equipment and operational leads to ensure success of the projects;
  • Collaborate with other department heads on local staff recruiting, overall staff development, salary administration, assignments and transfers, long and short-range staff planning, recoveries and new sales staff planning;
  • Monitor and direct overall construction performance from award to closeout/lessons learned;
  • Visit project sites on a regular basis and provide necessary oversight and support, observing construction activity to verify conformance with the scope/contract documents, schedule, quality, and safety of project. Identify, document, and fix any deficiencies;
  • Ensure procedures are established and enforced to produce safe, quality, on-time, on-budget projects;
  • Establish and maintain a high level of risk sensitivity throughout all levels;
  • Ensure preconstruction efforts produce complete estimates of constructible projects scheduled and planned for optimum construction time and minimal risk with maximum quality;
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with owners and architects.
We’re Looking For:
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency, including Microsoft Office products and P6;
  • Superior knowledge of industry;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of financial operations;
  • Excellent leadership and management skills;
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times;
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Excellent strategic thinking and visionary skills;
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent;
  • 15+ years relevant experience in management of construction operating units.

Work Environment/Job Conditions:
  • This job may be performed in the office or on the jobsite and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching.  Must be able to navigate the jobsite and is expected to be able to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the jobsite.
