Skanska provides facilities management services to Kent County Council. As a Site Caretaker, you will be based in Dartford and undertake maintenance duties within school premises. You will have a range of responsibilities including planned preventative maintenance, minor repair work covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems and building.


You will carry out weekly tests of the fire alarms, weekly and monthly legionella checks, repairs to internal/external fabrics of buildings, general labouring (furniture churn, school hall set up, gutter clearing, gritting in winter) and assisting our electrical and mechanical engineers with the operation of planned and reactive maintenance schemes. You will report to the Site Supervisor and work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 4.30pm.


We are looking for:

  • City & Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent

  • Full Driving licence (clean)

  • Previous experience as a handyperson, caretaker, maintenance assistant role is desirable

  • Experience of water systems and working on Fire Alarms is desirable but not essential

  • Ability to achieve a clear DBS security check status
