We currently have a vacancy for a Shift M+E Technician with mechanical bias based at Royal London Hospital.
As a Shift Multi-skilled M&E Technician with mechanical bias, your mission will be to undertake planned preventative maintenance, testing, repairs and new installation work covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital.
  • To support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within St Barts Hospital.
  • Participate in our 24/7 maintenance shift team - Continental Shift Pattern, 4 Days On/4 Days Off/4 Nights On/4 Nights Off, 7am to 7pm
  • Work safely on mechanical systems in accordance with all statutory mechanical regulations and health and safety legislation and regulations as appointed Competent Person for SFS on one or more of the following systems:-Boiler & Pressure Systems / Medical Gas / Confined Spaces
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of all aspects of mechanical systems including HVAC plant, washroom services, sterilisers, bedpan macerators / washers, disinfectors and other mechanical equipment ancillary plant and systems
  • Actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance scheme and to complete all report sheets and test certificates where necessary.
We’re looking for:  
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (including recognised trade apprenticeship) with either a mechanical or building services bias
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent team working, customer care and problem solving capabilities
