The Sr. Communications Coordinator serves as a member of the shared services Communications team and supports national communications initiatives. They are responsible for supporting the business units’ key objectives including bolstering the firm’s image among clients, prospects, potential recruits, partners and the public at large; supporting increased collaboration across the firm’s business units and geographies and engaging employees in the firm’s strategy and corporate initiatives. The candidate must be based in one of Skanska’s U.S. offices. When applying, candidate must include a cover letter and writing sample with your resume.


Key Tasks:

  • Managing and supporting weekly internal communications channel
  • Writing project and people stories to be published on Skanska’s internal and external communications channels
  • Developing website and intranet content
  • Writing internal and external promotional materials
  • Management of video projects
  • Media monitoring and reporting
  • Social media support
  • Assisting with executive communications, including presentations
  • Assisting with regional communications, including press releases and ads
  • Collaborating with graphic designers and ensuring materials meet brand standards
  • Supporting key initiatives, including human resources, sustainability, safety, and diversity and inclusion

Job Skills & Abilities: 

  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills required
  • Great interviewer and storyteller
  • Experience with social and traditional media
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Communications/public relations experience a must
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities and meet deadlines
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Proactive mindset
  • A self-starter

 Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least four years of experience in communications/public relations

He/she will report to the Head of Content and Digital Platforms for the U.S. with frequent interaction with the U.S. Communications Team.  The candidate must be based in one of Skanska’s U.S. offices.  Some travel to project sites and offices will be required. Time above and beyond normal business hours may be required to successfully complete projects and meet deadlines.
