Do you have the ability to identify, the talent and organisational capability needs of the business, put the right plans are in place and the ability to ensure successful implementation. This role is responsible for the leadership of following functional areas - Talent & Succession, Diversity & Inclusion, Leadership, Capability and Professional Development, Recruitment, and Early Careers.
 
You'll:
  • Be responsible for the leadership and development of Recruitment, Emerging Talent, Leadership Development, Capability and D&I teams, ensuring they are positively engaged and aligned to delivery of short and long term needs of the business
  • Proactively lead and coordinate business unit talent management approach, which ensures we have robust succession plans, development, and talent pipelines (internal / external) for Business Leadership teams, and key operational / support function roles
  • Translate the global / UK Diversity & Inclusion Strategy into focused and tangible actions that deliver on our aspiration of being a recognised leader in this area, align with key customer requirements, and increase inclusion and workforce diversity
  • Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business to understand current & future skills / behaviours requirements (including collaboration and digitalisation), and develop a suite of interventions that support the delivery of these
  • Ensure Graduate, Apprentice & Internship programmes position Skanska as a leading purpose-centric employer, which attracts diverse talent and develops individuals in line with current and future business needs. Build relationships with educational establishments to provide a pipeline & maximise usage of the  apprentice levy
We're looking for: 
  • An understanding of current and future leadership, behavioural, operational & professional skills needed in Skanska / our sector (or within their current business context), and success at delivering successful outcomes
  • Proven success of developing strategy within accountability areas for this role, and evidence of successful translation into tangible plans for delivery
  • Proven ability to balance best practice with need for pragmatism and ‘best fit’
  • Experience of leading talent management and succession planning at senior level with demonstrable outcomes
  • A strong people leader (direct and cross-functional)
  • Budget management / business case development
  • Experience of, and comfortable with, working at executive level
Our Central Support teams are an integral part of Skanska, and comprise our enabling functions such as Human Resources, Communications, Finance, IT, Health and Safety, Legal and Technical Services. As part of this team you will provide the support needed to enable Skanska to achieve its purpose to build for a better society. Central teams are based at our head office in Hertfordshire with some regional business partners based across the UK.
