CMS Officer (Configuration Management Developer) – Northwood Headquarters

Skanska provides total facilities management for Assets, Infrastructure, Support and Office Services across a wide spectrum within a large military complex.

The CMS Officer will ensure that FS operational delivery performance is in line with contract obligations and FS business processes. Services to be delivered with high levels of customer satisfaction and ensuring that the site remains compliant.

Here are a few of the things you’ll be doing in the role:
  • Administer the software used to record, organise and allocate IT connectivity within a communications environment that manage the IT change control process;
  • Expanding the organisation and responsibility for a small team of CM experienced professionals with responsibility to maintain the accuracy of data related to MACs. This includes organisation of audits to maintain accuracy of retained data.
  • Developing the management of relationships associated with the provision of circuit information, drawings and supplementary information as required by project managers that includes; cable run out sheets, cabinet elevations, electrical data sheets, electrical test certification, industrial plant, mechanical and electrical schematics, communication infrastructures, architectural and landscaping and office space management.
  • Monitoring tasks in progress and ensure work is completed to target timescales. Thereby satisfying client and user expectations aiming for consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • To ensure that the team has adequate training and resources to allow the team to complete its contractual obligations;
  • To contribute towards innovation associated with the CM functions which is likely to include software upgrades associated with migration of data to new change control platforms.

Here are a few of the experiences you may have which will help you be successful:
  • Experience of previous line management experience.
  • Qualified in a technical drawing or related discipline at NVQ/HNC level or degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience with a proven working experience of having worked in an IT /CIS configuration management role.
  • Experience of facilities management service delivery.
  • An ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employee, customer and client.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a demanding and varying workload.
  • Ability to deliver project work on time and with accuracy.
