We are looking for a Business Improvement, Innovation & Knowledge Manager to join our Infrastructure Services team on-site in Maple Cross. You will enable delivery teams to always beat or exceed 3% tender margin and enable bid teams to win profitable work. You will also drive continuous improvement in business and project delivery and ensure a culture of innovation.




  •  Implement and maintain processes and systems to measure, monitor and drive delivery of the Operating Units Business Plan
  • Collaborate with Group Operational Efficiency Directorate to share best practice
  • Work in collaboration with Quality managers and Construction managers identify business improvements that reduce the cost of poor quality
  • Lead the use of best practice methodologies such as EFQM, lean, IIP, to drive improvement
  • Lead advocate of FLITE training and PIT forums – making it stick
  • Proactively engage with Operations, Pre-construction and Technical teams to effectively share knowledge to ensure Skanska Infrastructure always hits tender margin
  • Demonstrate Skanska’s successes, capability and maturity in Business Improvement and innovation to Clients
  • Demonstrate return on investment of business improvements through robust costed business cases
  • Implement and provide training in new systems and processes as required to support the business plan
  • Engage with relevant industry and government leadership bodies to advise and inform Infrastructure strategy for business transformation


We’re looking for


  • Degree level education, or qualified by experience.
  • Ideally, membership of professional body (RICS, CIPS), or working towards.
  • Significant experience of procurement in the construction industry.
  • Sound working knowledge of the main forms of contract, NEC, JCT, CECA (ICE).
  • Knowledge of the forms of sub-contract for the building, civils and utilities sectors.
  • Experience of negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors.
