Mechanical Designer/Technician

The Building Mechanical Designer/Technician works with Mechanical Engineers to efficiently develop 3-D Revit models and produce construction documents of building HVAC and Plumbing systems. In addition, the Building Mechanical Designer/Technician coordinates with Architects, Engineers and Designers from other disciplines on their project teams to coordinate the designs of the project’s systems. Reports to the PCI Skanska Building Mechanical Discipline Manager.

We’re looking for:

• Able to work within a project team to efficiently produce project 3-D Revit models and construction documents of building mechanical systems.
• Will back check your own work to assure accuracy
• Able to implement and utilize project specific model and drawing standards
• Can effectively coordinate work with other project team members

Education and/or Experience:

• Should have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in technical drawing or related field, or a minimum of 4 years of related trade experience
• Must have a working knowledge of and a minimum of 2 years of Revit MEP using BIM strategies and AutoCAD
• A working knowledge of Navisworks, Trane Trace software, or using MEP Fabrication Parts within Revit is a plus.

This job is performed both in the office and in the field.  Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment, systems and conditions is required.  Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching.  Due to tool and computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists.
